You might look and see if there are any places locally where he lives that are also online- a lot of the online wine places charge a small fortune for shipping. Wine.com use to be really good and really affordable but at $8.95 shipping for your first bottle, not worth it in my opinion unless you’re looking to buy really high-end expensive wines.

You may be better off buying him a gift certificate for a local shop, especially if he lives in a larger city. For instance, Chicago and NYC have tons of places listed online where you can purchase them a gift card.
