fleurie wine
is there such a wine as a white fleurie?

I know there are plenty of reds not too sure about white

There are two answers to this question. Firstly, I would have to say categorically no. The Fleurie appelation only permits the production of red wines made using the Gamay grape. However, if we expand on this a little, we reach a grey area. Fleurie is one of the villages of Beaujolais, which is a sub-division appelation of Bourgogne. Anywhere in Bourgogne, a wine that is made from any of the permitted grapes or a blend of them may call itself ‘Bourgogne AOC’ (subject to some other conditions, but we shan’t go into those). For this reason, a white AOC wine may be produced in or around Fleurie. One can produce a Bourgogne Chardonnay, Bourgogne Aligoté, etc. but must call it that on the label, rather than calling it ‘Fleurie Blanc’ which would not be permitted.

In short: You cannot have an ‘AOC White Fleurie,’ but you can have a white AOC FROM Fleurie.

Sorry it’s a bit long-winded, but I hope this answers your question.
