foil wine cutter
When there is a stamp on a wine bottle, how do I open the bottle?

Do I use a foil cutter to remove the stamp first or do I use a corkscrew to penetrate the stamp and cork?
First, I think foil cutters keep the bottle looking nicer because I things like uneven rips bother me. That’s just my little OCD.

Second, it’s sealed with a stamp, not with foil. Again, I like to keep it looking nice, so I’m hesitant to just stab a corkscrew through it. Plus, I sort of want to keep the stamp.

I just stab the cork screw throw the wax. If a little gets in… no big deal. Wax won’t hurt you. I’ve never had a problem with it getting into the wine mind you.

I do completely agree with you on the foil cutter issue though.

It you want to keep the seal… try a sharp pairing knife. Cut around the edges and just pop it off.
