german white wine
what is the german translation for… a double tonic water please ?

im going to hamburg this weekend to race the triathlon world champs… i need to know how to order my drink.. and how do you say .. a white wine spritzer with lemonade?

“A double tonic water please” means “ein doppeltes Tonic Water bitte”.
No need to translate the tonic water, as it is a brand name.
If you ordered a double Scotch in Germany you’d also say “einen doppelten Scotch” (just to clarify the principle).

A “white wine spritzer with lemonade” is something I’d call “süße Weißweinschorle”.
The “süß” implies that it is made with lemonade (with water it would be “herbe Weißweinschorle).
White wine is Weißwein, and a Schorle is something mixed with water or lemonade (another example would be Apfelschorle, which is apple juice with water).

The problem is, I’m from the South, so I’m not exactly sure whether a barkeeper in Hamburg would know the word “Schorle”.
