Open Wine, how long will they last and what should i do?

I Like drinking wine, but i also use it for cooking-but for that i use dry wine which I don’t enjoy drinking as much. I have a wine stopper and pump to remove the air and im just wondering if that will preserve it until i use it for another recipe or if it was a waste of money. the current wine i have is a dry red and Im unsure if i need to refrigerate it in order to keep it longer of if its already dead.

Opened wine will be good for about a day and that’s it. (even if it is re-corked). You’ll notice the vinegar-type flavor that the wine takes on after about a day of being open. :)
