star wine stopper
wedding theme wedding?

ever since my fiance and i started dating we used to text each other at 11:11 to ‘make a wish.’ this evolved to any time the #’s were the same (4:44, 5:55. etc) and other silly rules to make wishes.

it seemed pretty obvious we should get married on november 11 (11/11/11) haha

i wanted to incorporate the theme of wishes somehow, seeing as we have spent so much time wishing for each other, and now our wishes are coming true! :)

i saw ‘wishing walls’ online, but have been unsuccessful in finding any to order.

another idea i had was for wedding favors of star shaped wine stoppers with a little note about wishes, but i kind of want something more memorable.

like maybe a wishing well? guests could write their best wishes for us on something and then toss a coin for the wishes to come true… or something like that??
or something with stars… i don’t know!!

any suggestions??

One thing you could do is like someone said find some paper (the size of a sticky pad) shaped like a star. You can have the paper the colors of your wedding. Have your guest write their best wishes for you guys on the paper and put it in a box. After the wedding you and your fiance/husband can take those pieces of paper and make a collage with them. You can do it on a picture frame with one of your favorite wedding photos in the middle. Or you can put it in your wedding album.

I think the favor idea is cute but the problem with it is what is going to happen to it after the wedding. Not many people have use for a wine stopper and it will probably end up in a drawer or something.

If you want to give a favor that is memorable why not look into star shaped picture frames. Or buy small normal picture frames and decorate it yourself with stars/shooting stars/etc and a quote/saying if you want one on there. You can go to any arts and crafts store to get the decorations for it and even the frames if you wanted to (the frames you can also find at a dollar store or something). You can have someone take a picture (either with a camera that dispenses photos or you can have them printed out sometime during the reception) of the guest when they walk in and you can put their photos in the frames for them to have.

And I love the tossing of the coin in a wishing well idea. You have loads of ways to decorate a wishing well and it does fit into your theme. Maybe you can have the photographer (who ever is taking a picture of the guests if you do the picture frame idea) take photos of the guests by the wishing well and/or tossing the coin into the well.
