Transmission problem?

I have a 1988 Olds Delta 88 the car will go untill it is warmed up then the tranny just slips into a no go gear so I pull over turn the car off and just out of spite I start the car again put it in gear and it will go for another block or so fluid is ok, when I start it up there is usually a wining sound, it also does the same thing when the electric connector is unplugged, now the vacume module on the front of the tranny when I took it off there is fluid dripping out from the inside of it and the little nipple on the end is not firm against the seal it will just flop about half way in and out is that normal or maybe I could get lucky and that would solve my problem?

That modulator has gone bad allowing tranny fluid to be sucked into the engine through the vacuum hose. You can’t unhook it or you might not be able to get into the drive gear. If you fill the tranny with fluid it will just be sucked out again.

Replace the modulator valve with a new one @$30 dollars. While your tinkering with the tranny replace the filter inside the pan. It could probably use it.

Don’t drive around with tranny low on fluid. The transmission will burn up costing big money.
