wine argon
Can anybody recommend a good reusable cork for resealing wine?

I use a nitrogen/argon mixture to prevent oxidation for bottles of wine I don’t want to finish in one sitting, which works great, but I’m stuck trying to figure out how to reseal the wine afterwards. The same cork inverted works somewhat temporarily, but what I’d really like is a reusable solution, something like The Corker: http://www.thecorker.com/ that I can order online and will fit any bottle. Please nobody talk about those vacuum pumps… those actually don’t work.

Those tools are more about fear and marketing than anything else. It would take a while for your wine to turn (if you are a true wine drinker and don’t re-cork wine expecting it to last for more many days) and a lot of fear in order to buy something like the “corker” to waste your money on such a tool. I employ the “inverted cork” technique and have had no issue with wine fermenting or turning … even after almost a month … which is a tad disappointing because I cook and I like salad and one of these days I want a wine to turn to vinegar so I can cook with it! But in my 20 years of wine drinking I’ve never had it happen.

Save your money for more wine, invert your cork and … In Vino Veritas!

cheers!
