Underdog Wining Strategies: Using The James Bond Technique

If you ever find yourself the under dog, wining against the odds is a necessary skill that’s in demand in the over competitive world we live in today. Whatever your career, goals or desires, most of us often face odds bigger than we are.  When this happens winning appears harder,  if not impossible. But if you’ll closely examine the people who find ways to win against the odds, most demonstrated specific steps, whether consciously or unconsciously.

If you’ll take the time to read, study and apply the following tips you’ll find yourself winning more against the odds.  As a result, you’ll begin to experience a more confident feeling when faced with challenges instead of being intimidated by them. Here’s 3 powerful tips for winning against the odds.

1. The  James Bond Technique

I’m a big fan of James Bond movies.  One thing you’ll notice about James Bond is he has a unique knack of winning against the odds. Granted it’s just a movie, but you can still learn valuable life lessons by watching James Bond movies.  Trust me.

If you’ll look closely he’ll  show you how to get out of tight spots in your own personal life. You may not have a laser firing watch, a sports car with rocket launchers or even poison dart shooting cuff links like James Bond. But you can still learn a lot from his attitude toward the “against the odds problems” he faces.

For example, the first thing James Bond always does when faced with a hair raising problem is to calmly assess the problem. And how does he do that? He looks for the weakness and then he attacks the weakness with one of his strengths.  You’ll notice he always knows his strengths and his weaknesses and how to use them to fit the specific challenge he faces.  The challenge may call for the use of a  gadget, his knowledge or his positive attitude.

Next, he has the ability to aggressively recognize and use small advantages, instead of complaining or whining about his problems. The difference between his success or failure is in a little detail.  As a result he’s able to take advantage of a little detail his opponent misses.  The difference is often a matter of inches, seconds or ounces between his survival or death.

Those examples should be noted and  applied when it comes to winning against the odds in your own personal situation. Often the devil is in the details.  Are you overlooking small details? It’s often said “little foxes (details) can spoil the vine (situation). Make sure you’re not overlooking an important detail. If you’re not the detail minded type, find or hire someone who is, they can be worth their weight in gold to you.

2. Look For The Crack and Then Attack

Remember the famous boxing match between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman. Who thought Ali had a ghost of a chance to win? Not the experts that’s for sure. Ali was older and  closer to the end of his career. Foreman was stronger, younger and hungrier, he had something to prove. But Ali had the ability to find the weak spot or crack in Foreman’s game plan and take advantage of it. That one small factor helped Muhammad Ali win against the odds.

One key component of wining against the odds is to look for the weak spot or the crack.  Every problem or challenge has a weak spot or crack.  Make it your mission  to calmly assess the problem and find the weak spot or the crack and then attack it with all you’ve got.

Remember a crack is that little weakness you can take advantage of that can help you win against the odds.  Finding it will often require research, patience and persistence, but when you find it that will often make the difference between wining and losing. After you find or discover it you must attack it with all you’ve got.

That crack could be in the form of a new discovery, a learned experience, a mistake you uncovered, a new resource of help or even a life lesson. Whatever it is, you must use it as a stepping stone, motivation or sense of inspiration to help you bounce back.

3. Check Your Attitude

One factor that’s always present in people who overcome great odds is there ability to keep positive, at least enough to keep trying or looking for a way to overcome the odds.  When you keep a positive and open attitude you’re poised to catch or see opportunity when it presents itself. Much like a base ball catcher is poised behind the plate to catch a fast ball. Many people who face tough odds fail to position themselves to catch opportunities to win. Why?  Because they failed to position themselves to catch the fast, quick moving opportune moments that quickly present themselves.

If you’ll take the time to follow these powerful tips you’ll find yourself  winning more victories against the odds. Be proud to be called under dog.
