How do you inventory Liquor, Beer and Wine at a bar.?

Without spending $500 or more on inventory software, what is the most accurate and simplest way to inventory you liquor? Should you do it daily, weekly, monthly, etc.? Right now I, I count the bottle beer, estimate how much of keg/liquor bottle is left and add pull back stock bottles. I then compare those numbers to sales based off last weeks sales.
It seems to me that there has to be an easier and less time consuming way of doing this.
Thank you for your help.

This is the easiest way to do it and for cheap. You could use a excel spreadsheet to help with the calculations. If you suspect an stock variance issue then fork out for a stock taking system, it will save you money in the long run.

I would do daily opening and closing counts and at least that way, you can narrow down and catch any issues stright away. Having said that, it does depend on how much stock you have. I used to do a weekly count on $120K worth off stock, that wasnt easy!!
