what brand of wine should i get?

My sister-in-law is getting married in april and on her registry she has a wine rack. I want to buy her that along with a wine. I dont drink wine so I dont know much about it. I asked my friend’s mom who works in fine dining and she said to get a white merlot because it is like a red but lighter. What brand of white merlot should I get? I want to get her a good gift so I dont really want to get a brand that is sold in Walmart. any ideas?

I think she probably said a white Zinfandel, not a white merlot. If she likes wine, I suggest a chardonnay too. Both are good choices. Do not buy per the cost of the wine. Some mighty tasty wines are very reasonable. The current gift trend is to get novelty funny labels. At Thanksgiving, we bought a bottle of wine called Three Blind Moose because of the funny name. It was a chardonnay and it was inexpensive and very good. We would definitely buy again because we enjoyed it so much. My sister gave me a bottle of Hell Raiser and a bottle of Fat A$$ for Christmas. She is in Texas and there is a store there that carries ONLY funny named wines. It is fun to get things that you would not normally purchase and a great way to try different things.
