Can I tote bottles of wine across the country and how??

Okay, I’m traveling from coast to coast in an RV. I want to bring several bottles of wine with me but my husband says it’s illegal. I say he’s full of it. Soooo, CAN I do this and if so, how can I pack/store it without him seeing it?

You can take it along wherever you want. The only thing that makes it potentially illegal is if any of the bottles are unsealed. You run into the gray area of “open container” laws. You might want to check with the state patrol with regards to RVs.

There’s no law against carrying your own personal supply of wine with you provided it’s sealed and you’re not operating the RV on the road while consuming. If there’s a compartment on The RV that can only be accessed from the outside, that would be the ideal location to store the partly consumed bottles to satisfy any open container laws.

It might be safe if you pack it where you keep your “female items” …it’s a good chance he’s got no interest snooping through them :)
